Stage 1: Submission of application documents: 1 July to 31 December 2025
The first step in the selection process is submitting an application as below.
Only fully completed applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis as received.
Download and complete the applicant information form with your personal details.
- Academic records (from your current school):
- Copies of your report cards or transcripts covering the last two academic years of high school, including all available terms or semesters.
- Two letters of recommendation (from your current school):
- One from a co-curricular referee (e.g. coach, club leader, mentor)
- One from an academic referee (e.g. teacher)
- Supporting certificates (if available):
- Any certificates of achievement, leadership, or awards relevant to your academic or extracurricular experience.

Stage 2: Interview day(s): January 2026
- Applicants are notified of their application status and provided with additional information or documents.
- Shortlisted applicants will physically attend a full day of interactive sessions in Nairobi, Kenya; date and location to be advised.
- Activities on the interview day included, but are not limited to:
- Group activities: Candidates engage in collaborative problem-solving tasks and discussions to assess teamwork, leadership, and adaptability.
- Individual interviews: A panel interview where applicants discuss their motivations, aspirations, and alignment with UWC’s values.
- Project presentations: Candidates may be asked to present a personal project or initiative they have worked on that reflects their commitment to making a positive impact.
- UWC Kenya Trust charges a non-refundable fee of KES 3,000.00 for attending the interview day (*fee waivers are considered on a case-by-case basis)

Stage 3: Shortlist and offers: February 2026
After selections, the National Committee nominates the most promising candidates for placement at UWC schools and colleges. Successful applicants will:
- Receive an offer for a UWC placement, which may be fully or partially funded depending on demonstrated need (all applicants will be requested to submit financial information to this effect).
- Have the opportunity to accept or decline the nomination.
- Complete necessary paperwork and preparations for enrollment.
- Approved applicants will provide all information and documentation directly to the specific UWC School or College in communication with the UWC Kenya National Committee.
Stage 5: Students travel to the UWC Schools and Colleges: August 2026 (WKUWCSA Jan 2027)
- Upon successful completion of the required documentation, including visa and travel arrangements, students report to their respective UWC School or College.
